Opinions writing preview activity


Immigration laws getting out of hand 

1. Who wrote the story?
The editorials 
2. What is their story about?
There story was about immigration and how bad its becoming like the issue is getting out of hand.
3. What is their direct opinion about that topic? Please quote it directly from the story or do a really good job of paraphrasing.
"there has been protest to protect these innocent undocumented immigrants"
4. Did they address what the other side might think about their topic?
Yes they did 
5. Were they wishy-washy with their opinion? By this I mean did they every go back and say well maybe if this were to happen, then their opinion wouldn't be valid. Support your opinion.
No they stuck to one point and why that point was an issue and what it was doing and effecting us  
6. Are there any quotes in the story?
yes there are multiple

Im pretty sure it was 3rd person

Because its something students don't really wanna see pictures of

Betsy DeVos unfit to serve as U.S. Secretary of Education

Its about Betsy DeVos and that she is just not suitable for this job at being secretary of the schools education

No they don't

No they are very certain that she is unable to do this job

Yes there are a few

I would say 1st person

Our great tree is worth saving

He talks about the big tree in the court yard and how much its worth to us and the school to save it and have it be there for man years and how special it is to all of us and what makes this school special

No he's not wishy washy he knows what he stands for and what he wants to see happen

Going above the norm for college

The Story is about how some people do un normal things just to get into college its not all ways about grades any more

This story doesn't really have an opinion its more facts and what they do

No not that i can recall of in my opinion they didn't

No they stuck to one side of the story and told it and didn't change sides

Yes she said on one side and why we should have it

She didn't really i really thought it was one sided

No she wasn't really wishy washy she stay'd to one side

No there isn't any

Its in 3rd person

There is also a cartoon version of a picture but probably because we might not have a physics class yet or not a lot of kids are taking it .
