Final exam review

This is Mr.Stamply a bowie high school world history teacher, Its a Wensday afternoon and another day of teaching his young students all about the world because thats what he loves to do and he does it by showing up to work everyday.He was very excited about thats day at school he talked about so much to them that day he was very happy to see them all learning. Andrew ,Matt,and Ej are some of the brightest students he could possibly have.

Pick a couple of photos and write captions for them. There are already captions there, don't copy them. You can make up names and situations if necessary. Post the photo and the caption on your blog.

As you can see Jim is a very funny guy,He loves to bake but he does it with a new kind of style of his own he's from Austin Texas Bakery On Tuesday morning he made a fresh batch of pastries for his open house.He had a blast making them in the kitchen and his open house was a great success.

2. You will need to know all the rules of photography and be able to explain them. Here are the rules again:

1. Rule of thirds-applied by aligning a subject with the guide lines and their intersection points, placing the horizon on the top or bottom line, or allowing linear features in the image to flow from section to section.

2. Balancing Elements-Placing your main subject off-center, as with the rule of thirds, creates a more interesting photo, but it can leave a void in the scene which can make it feel empty. 

3. Leading Lines-refers to a composition technique whereby the viewer's eye is attracted to lines that lead directly to the principle subject in the image. 

4. Symmetry and Patterns (repetition)-An object or design that is symmetrical that has two halves that are exactly the same shape and size. ... These leggings have a pattern that is symmetrical

5. Viewpoint- a way of looking at or thinking about something 

6. Background-the area or scenery behind the main object of contemplation, especially when perceived as a framework for it.

7. Create depth-the amount of distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appear in acceptably sharp focus in a photograph.

 On your blog – Copy Numbers 1-10 and then explain each rule in your own words.

4. You will need to know and be able to explain the ethics of manipulating photos in photoshop and what is acceptable and what is not acceptable.

6. You will need to be able to explain the photographic terms: Exposure, Depth of Field, and Focal Length. Look those words up again.

On your blog post those definitions – make sure they relate to photography.

7. You will need to know the four types of magazine covers: Early, Poster, Married to Type and Forest of Words and how to tell the difference.

8. Finally, I will be asking you to read about a current event that happened last year with a New York Post photographer. It will be a longer reading and there will be a multi-part series of reflective questions. This will be extra credit on the exam, so if you struggle with the above ideas/questions – you should plan to do this part. It could be the difference between an average grade and a very good grade.
