opinion story

Baseball season is a great time for all the baseball fans a time to see who owns the other one money for the bet they had made or to see who’s team is going to make it to the world series this year.

Everyone has a favorite baseball team as for me I do, My family is a big Texas Ranger fans but I’m not I fit in that small amount of Texans who go for the Astros I personally think there a better team then the Rangers but it’s all facts to really prove that.

In the past the Rangers have preformed very well during the past years and the Astros well preformed not their best seasons but year after year they improve and getting better during the summer of last year the Houston Astros sat atop of the division most of the summer.

The Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers figure to again fight for the division title again this coming up season. The window is very open for both teams but the Houston Astros are in favorites in West gates AL West race as well as Fan graphs.

Houston is very clearly talented. Their core of Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, George Springer, and Alex Bregman is a good four – player core in the game and the new veteran addition like Carols Beltran and Brian McCann lengthen the line up and also bring a leadership quality that was lacking last season but they have found a way to bring it up this season.

The Astros are essentially bringing back the same starting rotation and replacing Charlie Morton with Doug Fister and a few players weren’t the greatest last year and Lance McCullers has a ton of potential and his injuries where a big problem the Astros are determined to score as many runs and get good bullpen that an average rotation will carry them to the AL west title this year.

The Houston Astros has a lot of players coming back from injuries this season as well they have a to score a ton of runs and bullpen to keep there lead and  this season the Astros are the top rank and have the most win in the AL west with only six loses as for the Rangers they have the third spot this season with nine wins and ten loses.

The two teams that split Texas with the Rangers having the most fans I think that a lot of Ranger fans are going to start switching team with how bad there doing this season as for the Astros our fan base is going to keep growing with this seasons top spot lead and the Astros might not have all ways been great but this year there really coming up and quick, I can truly say this year might be Astros year.

The Astros are ranked second for MLB out of 30 teams and not a lot of people think that the Astros could be this close to the top speaking on there past years with there additions of veterans and there offense Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa make Houston’s club look like the AL’s strongest offensive unit entering 2017.

As the Texas Rangers fall in ranking of sixteen in the MLB ranking. Elvis Andrus is hard to count on him to repeat his 2016 excellent performance. The Rangers don’t have quite enough offensive firepower to stack with the teams above them on the list this season.

The Houston Astros well all ways be my top team no matter what there rank is and win or lose there still going to have a great amount of fans like me on there side and this seasons is going to show that the Astros are coming up for a come back from all those years of doubt.

Nut graf

A nut graf purpose to justify the story by telling the reader why they should care and provides a transition from the lead and it explains the lead and the connections to the rest of the story it also tell why the story s timely It also helps the reader see why the story is important .

It gives detail and support to the story and reason on why we should listen to the story and why should we care what the story says and it also helps keep story's clean and not all over the place when writing them and that the story has a point to it and that it all takes about the same thing

Student of the month story

who- A student at bowie high school

what- Won student of the month

where- At James Bowie High School

when-This month

why- Because she wanted to accomplish this and it looks good on college applications

how- By maintaining good grades and after school activity

A student at James Bowie High school had just won the student of the month award this month and her family and friends are so excited and so very proud of her for achieving this award. We asked her why she wanted to do this and she said ''because i wanted to accomplish this and it looks good on college applications and i thought it would be a fun challenge'' she said she had to maintain her grades and do some fun after school clubs and activities along the way.

"keeping up with all the work is a challenge and stressful but its worth it in the end," she said.

Being student of the month is an exciting thing and being able to get student of the month out of all the  students trying to win the same title is a tuff thing to do, winning the student of the month isn't all ways an easy thing to do. The current winner of student of the month knows the dedication and time and hard work it takes to get that title and how good it feels to have all that pressure just lift off your shoulders.

"Choosing student of the month is a real hard decision to make, " assistant principal Samantha smith said to us.

Student of the month is more then just an award and more then 10 seconds of fame for them, when winning student of the award is so huge to them because when you win student of the month all the students know your name and you are finally out of the dark for some its just a time to be happy and excited but also being student of the month came with a lot of responsibility and a lot of hard work.

"Being student of the month for me was more then just a win, it was like feeling big having everyone know me and know my name was a great part of winning," she had said.

James Bowie High School is a great school for doing student of the month a lot of schools don't do student of the month so a lot of students don't get recognized for the hard work they are doing and time and effort that they put into school and having this bust students up to work harder and push them selfs to do better in life and want to learn and want to get good grades and just be better in life.

"I am proud that our school does student of the month and i'm glad i get to be a part of this and i couldn't ask for a better way to give students confidence, Im glad to say i am student of the month," Terrazas said.
